Tribute Thursday: Seether

Good morning my pretties,

Hope you all slept well and had beautiful nightmares!

Today I’m tributing a very popular band who I’ve loved since they were not really too famous and even though they are from my home country, I have never seen them in concert. I know, shocking right?

Seether formed in the late 1990’s in Pretoria, South Africa and are a post-grunge / alternative metal band with hits like Fake it, Remedy and their rock version of George Michael’s Careless Whisper.

With 6 studio albums and 2 digital albums behind their name, 2,235,433 facebook fans, numerous awards and being on the Billboard charts multiple times, they are by far the most successful South African band to date – and with good reason!

Their lyrics are meaningful, their songs are easy to listen to and they are epicness personified.

Don’t believe me?

Happy Thursday!

Tribute Thursday: Ronnie Radke

Hey mah cherries and daggers!
So since tomorrow is a public holiday and I’ll probably get motherlessly wasted on tequila tonight, I’ve decided that instead of posting my Tribute Thursday in the late hours of tomorrow (when I finally get out of hibernation and recover), I’m giving you guys a 2-post today treat!

First, let’s start off with the good news…

it’s almost the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeekend babeh!!

And now back to my post:

Ronnie Radke

All the way from Las Vegas, Ronnie was born on the 15th of December 1983.

He formed a band called “Escape The Fate” with his friends Max Green, Bryan Money, Omar Espinosa and Robert Ortiz and were somewhat “discovered” by My Chemical Romance in 2005 when a radio station was holding a contest that MCR had to choose the winners. That was when Epitaph Records decided to sign them.

Escape the Fate when Ronnie was still the lead vocalist

According to “Their first EP “There’s no sympathy for the dead” came out in May 2006. ‘Cause of drug problems, Ronnie had to leave the band in 2006. But in November he came back and their first LP, named “Dying is your latest fashion”, came out. There was a group battle in 2007 in Las Vegas and Michael Cook died. Ronnie Radke was arrested for participate, even he wasn’t the murderer. He had to accede to a detox programme and he couldn’t tour for 8 months. So the band kicked him out.  Ronnie did’nt go to the training and later he had to stay in prison for 2 years. Escape the Fate replaced him for vocalist Craig Mabbitt. Ronnie was angry and sad for this and he made up a new band, named Falling in Reverse. 2011 came out their first single, The Drug in Me is You. In his new songs Ronnie write most about his time in prison. The songs are written by himself in his last 2 years. Now Ronnie continues with his new band and Escape the Fate with Craig. Ronnie is still Max’ friend (they were best friends for a long long time) but he kid Craig often. Escape the Fate tried to take him back in the band but he’s still angry and he has’nt intentions to go back to them.”

Ronnie’s new band Falling in Reverse

So why am I dedicating an entire Tribute Thursday to Mr R Radke?

Because he’s awesome of course.

The lyrics in his songs are cocky, arrogant and funny as hell and if you’re into post-hardcore songs like I am, you will find their music is like taking a dip into a chocolate-filled swimming pool.

Here are some of the songs he did vocals for for both Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse. Enjoy!

Have a delicious Thursday!

Tribute Thursday: The Pretty Reckless

Hey Cherries and Daggers!

Hope you’re having a fab Thursday so far…

Sooooo my first Tribute Thursday is dedicated to my favourite band… EVER!!! And just so you know, it’s got absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I’d jump Taylor Momsen’s bones what-so-ever (ok maybe a lil lol)!!

The band’s sound is alternative rock, hard rock, post-grunge and they’re a band straight out of the USA. The band’s lead singer is actress/model Taylor Momsen known for her role as Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl.

The other members of the band include Ben Phillips (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mark Damon (bass) and Jamie Perkins (drums).

The band formed in 2010 with the release of their album “Light Me Up” and soon after released their self-entitled “The Pretty Reckless” and in 2012 the album “Hit Me Like A Man”.

19 Year old Taylor is pretty much the focus point for the band, being tall, blonde and beautiful, she oozes sex appeal and confidence and is often seen sporting sexy lingerie in a very vampiric fashion at their live performances.

Like what you see?

Have a kick ass Thursday
